Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom -Aristotle
Coupling mind and body
First and foremost, therapeutic work requires a safe and confidential environment to share one's pain and struggles. This safe space is essential in the healing process by allowing people to be seen and heard without the fear of judgment or criticism. Once this safe space has been established, therapy can be a journey of exploration where, together, we can examine what is most important to you.
My therapeutic focus is to reconnect you to your internal strengths and resilience so that you can discover effective options to cope with life’s difficulties, resolve daily pressures with more ease, and support the change that you want to see in your life. The primary modalities that I utilize center around Object Relations Therapy integrated with Somatic Experiencing (SE).
Object Relations Therapy is a variant of psychotherapy that helps individuals understand how the dynamics of their early relationships help to shape their self-perception and current relationships.
Somatic Experiencing is an innovative mind-body therapeutic approach for resolving trauma and relieving chronic stress symptoms by bringing attention to the way our bodies can physiologically regulate to work through states of psychological distress and dysregulation.
This integrated therapeutic approach focuses on both psychological and somatic states and has proven very effective in healing past traumas, curbing self-defeating behaviors, developing healthier ways to connect with others and improving trust in one’s self.
